I took my public key to my laptop to test the connection and am getting a server refusing the key error. I dont even know if this is needed but this is a hot mess. I also installed Pageant.not sure why but I guess its for ssh keys management.

I have this created on my local admin account. ssh folder AND "authorized_keys" file both created.
#SFTP SERVER SOFTWARE WINDOWS 2008 HOW TO#
Ive spent the past month trying to get this SFTP server set up and configured with a key pair and have 30+ tabs opened on this issue with none of my colleagues knowing how to set this up so what help I can find is only applicable to Linux. So I was going to write a looooooooong winded reply but I dont know where to begin. Is this possible with the various Microsoft articles I am finding mentioning setting up SFTP with OpenSSH or am I understanding that incorrectly? We are going to be utilizing a public key given to by the other party. It is my understanding that IIS does NOT support SFTP but DOES support setting up secure FTP (FTPS). This link is what I stumbled upon on my search in this sub that I think might be useful but am not entirely too sure as this is my first SFTP server setup. We are strictly a Windows shop so setting this up on Linux will simply not happen for a variety of reasons.
#SFTP SERVER SOFTWARE WINDOWS 2008 FULL#
Our organization operates on a yearly budget so I am trying to find the best solution that is free (why isnt this full setup possible on Windows?) but all I am coming across is paid for FTP software that is being utilized for setting up SFTP.

I understand the difference in SFTP vs FTPS, however we are attempting to set up SFTP on server 2019 and am running into a few hiccups. I have done the subreddit search for configuring an SFTP server on Server 2019 but am finding a lot of different information.
